Treatment Programs For Men

While Beverly Hills exudes an atmosphere of elegance and luxury, it also faces the challenges associated with substance abuse and addiction that impact many other communities. Like other cities in California and across the United States, Beverly Hills grapples with issues related to drug addiction and alcoholism.

In recent years, there has been a troubling increase in drug-related deaths throughout California, including Los Angeles County, where Beverly Hills is located. According to data obtained from the 2020 National Survey of Drug Use and Health:

  • Young adults aged 18 to 25 had the highest percentage of people with alcohol use disorders (15.6% or 5.2 million people), followed by adults aged 26 and older (10.3% or 22.4 million people), and adolescents aged 12 to 17 (2.8% or 712,000 people).
  • A substance use disorder affected 40.3 million individuals aged 12 and over (or 14.5 percent) in 2020.
  • There was a significantly lower rate of treatment seeking among adults with substance use disorders or co-occurring substance use disorders and mental illness. Over 90% of them did not receive treatment in the past year.

Does Drug Addiction Affect Men Differently Than Women?

According to data published by the National Institute on Drug Abuse in 2020, there are many significant ways in which men are affected disproportionately or uniquely by drug and alcohol addiction.

While most research shows that men and women have relatively comparable outcomes once they seek professional treatment, men are more likely to experience sufficient social support once they enter treatment. There are also some indications that while most treatments have a similar rate of effectiveness in both men and women, the specific treatment for cocaine use that involves disulfiram has been measured as more effective in men with a cocaine addiction than in women. Additionally, men that are treated with naltrexone for their alcohol use disorder often do not have the same degree of recovery as women.

Recent research has shown, among other things, that:

  • Men are more prone to and have higher documented rates of, binge drinking
  • When heroin is being used, men are more likely to inject it than women
  • When heroin is used, men are more likely to use larger amounts or take the drug more frequently than women
  • Men are more likely to seek treatment for heroin addiction
  • Men who become addicted to marijuana are more likely to develop a co-occurring antisocial personality disorder
  • Men who become addicted to marijuana are more likely to develop multiple other substance use disorders
  • Men who use marijuana in high school are likely to have more problems with their family relationships, as well as more problems in school than women who use marijuana in high school
  • Men are more likely to experience an overdose situation than women as a result of illegal drug use
  • Men are more likely to end up in the ER as a result of their addiction

What We Offer

What Types Of Programs Are Available In Men’s Drug Rehab?

There are several types of men’s drug rehab programs that can be found in leading rehab centers. There are three primary types of treatment programs, detox, inpatient, and outpatient.

Detox

Entering a detox program is entering into a residential setting where the individual can be monitored during their detox and acute withdrawal stage. This is generally used as the first step to a well-rounded treatment plan and allows the patient to let the drugs or alcohol leave their system in a safe and comfortable environment. When the patient is medically stable and out of the acute withdrawal stage, they will often be ready to begin either a long-term or a short-term inpatient treatment program to begin their recovery and relapse prevention programming.

Inpatient treatment programs are often called residential programs, as the patient will live completely at the treatment center for the duration of the treatment, and will check out after it has concluded. The patient will wake up each day and have breakfast, then spend a large portion of their day participating in individual and group therapy, counseling sessions, and addiction education programs, breaking for lunch.

After lunch, more recovery programming will continue until the early evening. The day’s programming will generally conclude before dinner, and following dinner will often be support groups or social discussion time, as well as personal time for the patients to reflect on the day and prepare for the next. Inpatient programs will often last at least a few weeks but can be as long as a few months, depending on the needs of the patient.

Outpatient treatment programs are one of the most flexible ways for men to continue their treatment and recovery, while also maintaining a job or going to school, and living independently or at a sober living facility. Outpatient programs will require the patient to travel to the treatment center at least once per week, to participate in counseling and additional treatment.

Depending on the needs of the patient, more intensive outpatient programs can be created as well. Some patients may find that 3 visits a week for 3-4 hours each is the level of treatment they feel they need. This can be adjusted as often as needed, in alignment with the opinion of the doctors and clinicians, and the needs of the patient. Frequently attending support groups or 12-step meetings is a component of outpatient programs of all intensity levels.

Outpatient programs are often used as a step-down treatment for those leaving inpatient treatment who will need some level of continuing care.

What Sets Us Apart

Is Specialized Drug Rehab For Men Available?

One of the biggest reasons that men often seek treatment in a male-only setting is due to the perceived social stigma in seeking help with mental health, in the form of treating co-occurring disorders. Co-occurring disorders are other conditions or disorders, commonly mental disorders, that are present simultaneously with drug or alcohol addiction.

Specialized, gender-specific care is available in the form of men’s drug rehab.

Traditionally, men are seen as weak or lesser for seeking help with mental health issues, and while we know this is not only unrealistic but dangerous, many men are still hesitant to seek professional treatment for non-physical conditions. It is important to remember that nobody is ever weak or lesser than another person for choosing to take better care of their health, whether physical or mental.

Co-occurring disorders can be incredibly hard to diagnose and treat, outside of a detox and inpatient rehab situation. The reason is that when the patient isn’t detoxed, the side effects of the substance use can mask or alter the symptoms of the undiagnosed mental illness, just as the symptoms of mental illness can also mask the signs of potential drug abuse. To combat this, the most effective treatments for co-occurring disorders are those that treat all disorders at the same time.

What To Look For In A Beverly Hills Drug Rehab

Because of the ongoing challenges with addiction, Beverly Hills has become a renowned hub for exceptional rehabilitation centers. The extensive availability of drug rehabilitation facilities in Beverly Hills offers both opportunities and considerations when choosing a facility aligned with your needs. For your well-being and recovery, it’s crucial to carefully select the most suitable drug and alcohol rehab center. Here are some vital factors to consider during your decision-making process:

Top-Notch Medical Care

The primary objective of any rehabilitation facility is to deliver superior medical care that fosters long-term sobriety. It is imperative. Therefore, select a Beverly Hills drug rehab center that places utmost importance on exceptional medical care and possesses the requisite resources to provide it.

This entails maintaining well-equipped facilities, employing a team of highly skilled staff members, and demonstrating proficiency in handling diverse treatment scenarios.

When it comes to addiction treatment, there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach. Instead, what is essential is comprehensive and personalized care that is tailored to individual needs, substance use patterns, and personal goals. It is crucial to prioritize an inpatient rehab that offers customized treatment programs to ensure effective and personalized recovery.

Ensure you seek treatment centers specialized in addressing your unique substance use disorder, whether it is alcohol or other drugs. Additionally, consider facilities with specialized programs specifically designed to enhance your healing journey and cater to your individual circumstances.

Embarking on the path of long-term healing can prove to be a formidable undertaking. Hence, it is of utmost importance to have a cohesive team of empathetic and competent personnel alongside you every step of the way.

With proficient staff, you can guarantee exemplary medical care, while compassionate and understanding professionals foster an environment that prioritizes your dignity and well-being.

Beverly Hills’ drug and alcohol rehab centers have earned nationwide acclaim for their exceptional facilities. When considering rehab choices, place importance on centers that prioritize privacy, cleanliness, and amenities that meet your requirements.

Make sure that your drug and alcohol treatment center offers comprehensive treatment options that are tailored to meet your specific needs.

A fantastic rehab center should provide the following treatments:

  • Onsite medical care
  • Life integration programs
  • Dual-diagnosis treatment
  • Tailored recovery treatments

When seeking rehabilitation at a treatment center, financial considerations often come to mind, particularly when facing financial constraints. It is advisable to explore rehab centers that accept diverse insurance plans, provide financing options, or assist with flexible payment methods to enhance treatment accessibility.

What Our Clients Say About Us

From the techs who became some of my best friends there to the therapist and each group facilitator. The quality was top notch. The chef took such good care of us and everything was delicious. The house and private rooms were really comfortable and peaceful. Everyone really cared and wanted each client to succeed. Thank you to everyone there and for helping me get my life back.
Rick T.
I never realized they had treatment centers, like this. Food is a ten, house is a ten, and the recovery is a ten. . The house is a mansion, no chores, cooking, cleaning or anything, just focus on recovery. The house is nothing compared to the staff, that run it. The most compassionate people, who understand this disease better than anyone I've been around.
Timothy G.
The best rehab facility I’ve ever went to my entire life the staff was absolutely incredible. And the facility is so beautiful it’s so relaxing and the food is so exquisite. The owners of the facility truly care about each client individually and are some of the best people I’ve ever met. Thank you for everything y’all did for me.
Salvador C.
While in detox, I had the most attentive care from the nurses and staff which meant the world to me. This was my first (and hopefully last) rehab experience and I don't think I could've asked for anything better. They have private chefs, excellent group sessions, top of the line doctors, therapists, and social workers. Yes, this is a place to get off of substances, but it's so much more... You can actually fix yourself here.
Dashe H.
From the walking into the doors to my final days in the facility, all of my needs were not only met but exceeded. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and caring. Most of which are in long term recovery, which is comforting as well. From therapy to extracurricular activities, I was always engaged and learning more about how to get my life back on track. Meals curated by the chef were above anything I could’ve expected. And the estate itself is breathtaking.
Napalm
Great staff really make a difference. I've gone through other treatment centers before this one feels like home people really care and have your back even after you leave. Location is beautiful amenities are great and some of the best facilitators I've ever worked with . management and owners are fantastic and personable and will bend over backwards to make sure you have the best recovery possible
